The Facts of Malnutrition

The Casa Jackson Program

The Casa Jackson Staff

Casa Jackson exists to provide children with the medical, nutritional, and educational assistance they need for the quickest recovery possible.

The Dilemma of Malnourished Infants in Guatemala

Chronic malnourishment plagues Guatemala with greater frequency and severity than any other Latin American country.

Estimates posit that over 50% of the children of the country are malnourished.  The consequences of the condition include: stunted growth, brain damage, xerosis, follicular hyperkeratosis, fatigue, emotional distress, and death.

Over half the children between one and five are afflicted with these conditions in Guatemala.

Specifically, Casa Jackson strives to:
  1. Give each child an exemplary environment for his/her personal development with special attention to the preparation of food, clothing, and hygiene
  2. Promote quality nutritional education for families from across Guatemala
  3. Teach parents better ways to use locally produced, highly nutritional foods from their own communities for the nourishment of their families
  4. Accommodate and provide excellent service for up to 20 children

Casa Jackson for Malnurished Infants is an international community service project sponsored by the Bismarck, North Dakota-founded and internationally-based GOD'S CHILD Project.

The GOD'S CHILD Project and Casa Jackson for Malnourished Infants were founded by Bismarck, ND-native Patrick Atkinson.  The GOD'S CHILD Project began in 1991, and currently cares for and educates 5,000 orphaned, abandoned, and poverty-stricken boys and girls in Africa, India, Central America, and the United States.  In addition, the Project provides education, health, and community-based services for 8,700 widowed, abandoned, and single mothers and their dependents.

The Institute for Trafficked, Exploited & Missing Persons (ITEMP) is a borderless sub-program of The GOD'S CHILD Proejct. ITEMP was also founded by Mr. Atkinson in 2001 and operates in conjunction with national governments and international law enforcement agencies to prevent, interdict, rescue, and recover victims of human trafficking.
