Luis is a boy who lives in Villa Canales with his grandmother. His mother is a minor and at present is 8 months pregnant with her second child. Luis was moved to Hospital San Juan de Dios because he was found with
an intestinal infection and vomiting. The main problem was that he
could not tolerate food.
He
was treated in the hospital for the infection he was suffering from and
was later moved to Casa Jackson to continue his nutritional
rehabilitation. He entered into the Casa Jackson weighing 13 lb (6 kg). While in the Casa Jackson his grandmother became responsible for him
because his mother did not know how to provide necessary care to a
child. He left 5 weeks later weighing 16 lb (7.3 kg).
