Volunteer or Contact Us

The Casa Jackson staff work to provide a safe, clean, healthy, and fun atmosphere for the children. Among the staff, the dedicated volunteers are essential to keeping Casa Jackson running consistently at the high quality for which we are known.  We want YOU to come and spend time with us; to love the children of Casa Jackson and aid them in their journey toward full recovery.

We are looking for volunteers who have the heart to care for malnourished children and the experience necessary to provide support to the house.  Volunteers need a passion for the children of Guatemala, a willingness to change lots of diapers, and an excitement to work towards growth and understanding.  If you match this description, please come and volunteer with Casa Jackson for Malnourished Infants
.

Experiences

"It’s not often in medicine that you get to watch people get better. You can't watch a patient's blood pressure go down, nor can you see headaches resolve. However, while volunteering at Casa Jackson, I saw children come in bone-thin, scared, and often lethargic. As they grew accustomed to the smiling faces of the nurses and volunteers and were carefully fed, they gradually turned into smiling, affectionate, playful children. I loved watching this progression, playing with the children, and showing them care and attention. I feel like my time at Casa Jackson was one of the most valuable and rewarding experiences I've had, and hope that it will shape my practice as a physician. I hope to return soon and participate in giving some of the world's poorest children a chance to be well-fed and loved."

- Alicia Palmer, USD Medical Student

"Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the kids!!! My daughter, Mallory, and I volunteered at Casa Jackson in June. These kids won our hearts in the short amount of time we were there! It was so good to see them again. We have our own pictures that we will treasure forever!"

- Sarita Gruszynski

"I am sorry to say that my trip to Antigua was just a short week and Alicia, Katrina and I have returned home. The girls were very sad to say good-bye to all their new friends and the family they lived with for the past five weeks..I have to say that this past week was one of the most rewarding and heartwarming weeks of my life. It was such a wonderful experience to see people from all over the world giving of their time and hearts for these children."
